For those who have been reading, I would like to thank you. For those who just started following or reading the blog, I would like to give you a little background on me as an educator. I am entering my 21st year as an educator, and during this time, I have tried to keep a history of my teaching, but for a number of reasons, it has not been a success. This year, I have a motivator – it will be an objective for my evaluation. This will not be anything fancy, just a collection of events and thoughts of my day. Also, this will not be proofread, so hopefully you will not judge, but rather have a better understanding of my journey as an educator and person.
Today, I found out that an article I wrote for the VEA (Virginia Educational Association) will be published in December. Yes, I know this blog doesn’t show the my “so call writing skills,” but I have some writing skills.
The article I wrote was about using Google Classroom with students. I submitted it early this summer, and finally received conformation today that it was going to be published.
This was exciting news for me because it proves to me that I was meant to be in education. My influence on the lives of others is a factor of why I wanted to become a teacher. In school, I felt that I had some “bad teachers” and I felt I could be a better teacher.
So, when the article is published, guess where it will be posted? Glad I was able to seek out another way to motivate myself, as well as work on my professional development resume.
